AOP Ribbon Award and Prize Giveaway
For SECO 2010, Allied Ophthalmic Professionals will have an opportunity to take home one of three level prizes. All registered AOP attendees have to do is complete four continuing education course hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday to be awarded one of three ribbons and participate in a drawing to win American Express gift cards of various denominations.
NEW! InfantSEEĀ® for AOPs
Allied Ophthalmic Professionals will be able to attend a course never before presented at SECO. On Friday the course entitled "InfantSEEĀ®-A Birth into a New Vision" will be presented by Dr. Lynn Hammonds and Ms. Diane Ladd. The course will be presented from 10:30 -11:30 AM. Attendees will gain an understanding of this very important program and will discuss the techniques and procedures for examining the eyes of an infant. This course is not to be missed! Allied Ophthalmic Professionals' EXCLUSIVE General Session
This year's AOP General Session, "Cross Training-It IS My Job!" will feature a panel of paraoptometric association leaders in the Sidney Marcus Auditorium on Friday, February 12, 2010, 3:30 - 5:30 PM. This FREE interactive session for all Allied Ophthalmic Professionals will address cross-training issues that are important for enhanced teamwork in the office. At the conclusion of this course a 15 minute presentation will be provided by representative of CIBA VISION.
Allied Ophthalmic Professionals EXCLUSIVE Networking Reception
In addition to one of the largest education program offerings for AOPs, SECO 2010 is home to the AOP Networking Reception, the only reception exclusively for AOPs in optometry! SECO will host the second annual Allied Ophthalmic Professionals Networking Reception immediately following the AOP General Session. Join SECO for drinks and the opportunity to network with other Allied Ophthalmic Professionals at optometry's only AOP networking event.
Get Focused on Education
This year for Allied Ophthalmic Professionals, SECO has a new focus. In addition to the many workshops and reviews, courses will be categorized into areas of focus to include:Focus on Business - These courses will focus on providing the necessary tools to keep the ophthalmic office running smoothly.
Focus on Clinical Skills - These courses will focus on procedures used in the preliminary examination of ophthalmic patients.
Focus on Contact Lenses - These courses will focus on what is needed to properly dispense and fit contact lenses to the patient.
Focus on Opticianry - These courses will focus on the skills the optician needs to properly dispense and fit eyeglasses.
Focus on Pharmacology - These courses will focus on the medicines as they relate to the ophthalmic patient.
Exam Reviews for Certification
For AOPs who want to obtain certification, SECO 2010 will offer exam reviews for ABO, NCLE, JCAHPO and AOA CPO certifications. Certification not only is advantageous in professional development, but often leads to career progression for AOPs. SECO is proud to support AOPs in their pursuit to complete professional certifications.
